Distinguished and Famous people from Bulahdelah
Bulahdelah's agricultural show has depended on sustained voluntary work. One long-serving president's record offers a clear local story of service, recognised by both the show community and a national honour.
🌾 Gary Gooch
Gary Gooch became president of Bulahdelah Show Society in 1984, shortly after the show resumed following a long break. In 2024 the society recognised forty years of his service, including work on improvements to the showground and its facilities. His wife Kerrie's long contribution was also acknowledged with life membership. Gooch received an OAM in 2019 for service to the agricultural show sector, with his Bulahdelah presidency recorded in the official citation. The achievement rests on years of organisation and volunteer cooperation that allowed a local show to keep returning to the calendar.
